The Association des Propriétaires d’Appartements et de Chalets sur le Haut-Plateau de Crans-Montana (APACH) inaugurates its new cultural department with “Premier Amour” by Samuel Beckett, in Fondation Opale’s auditorium, on Saturdays September 14, 21 and 28.

Directed by Stéphane Albelda, this adaptation of Beckett’s story tells the tale of a man we know nothing about, marginalised and homeless after his father’s death. It’s while wandering aimlessly that he meets Lulu, a woman who turns his daily life as an isolated man upside down. Their relationship is marked by a strong ambivalence that oscillates between a desire for human closeness and almost unbearable irritation.

Starring Stéphane Liard, this story written in 1945 and published in 1970 raises profound questions about the nature of human relationships, isolation, incommunicability and the absurdity of the human condition.
