The exhibition EMILY KAM KNGWARRAY opens on Sunday 14 June. On this occasion, a round table will bring together women artists from the Utopia community and Kelli Cole, co-curator of the exhibition. The discussion will focus on Emily Kam Kngwarray and the connection to Country expressed in the paintings of artists from her community.
Kelli Cole is a Warumungu and Luritja curator from Central Australia. the Director of Curatorial & Engagement for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Gallery of Australia project in Alice Springs. She has contributed to numerous publications, both nationally and internationally, on various aspects of First Nations art.
She will be in conversation with women artists from the Utopia community, the community of Emily Kam Kngwarray, located 250 km north-east of Alice Springs (Northern Territory). The exhibition has been developed in dialogue with this community.
