GUIDED VISIT WITH HÉLÈNE DELPRAT
25.07.2026Discover the exhibition EMILY KAM KNGWARRAY through the perspective of French artist Hélène Delprat!
Hélène Delprat is a French painter, video artist and scenographer. She graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and between 1982 and 1984, she was a resident at the prestigious Villa Medici in Rome, where she presented the anonymous exhibition Jungles et Loups. Upon returning to France, she joined Galerie Maeght, which she left ten years later after deciding to stop exhibiting her work. The works she created during this period marked the beginning of a practice that gradually moved towards research into everything that does not belong to painting, without ever abandoning painting itself. Drawing on literary, cinematic and documentary sources, Delprat has developed a multidisciplinary practice including video, theatre, installations and radio works.
In 2004, she launched a blog titled “Days, faire un truc par jour”, which she still maintains today.
In 2011, after 15 years away from the public eye, Galerie Christophe Gaillard convinced her to exhibit again.
From 2014 to 2024, she taught at the Beaux-Arts de Paris. Her work has been widely exhibited in solo shows.
In 2021, she was featured in the group exhibition Sans titre, organised by the Pinault Collection at Punta della Dogana in Venice, Italy.
In 2023, Hélène Delprat received the Grand Artistic Prize from the Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca and joined Galerie Hauser & Wirth in collaboration with Galerie Christophe Gaillard.
