Discover the documentary « Le Vivant qui se défend », directed by Vincent Verzat and produced by Partager c’est Sympa.

The film retraces his journey between activism and naturalism, his search for a balance between struggle and contemplation. Starting from a personal and sensitive narrative, this feature film connects the world of wild animals with the struggles being fought across France against the destruction of their habitats.

For the past ten years, Vincent Verzat has been investigating major economic, ecological, and social issues. He films the environmental mobilizations he witnesses, self-trains, takes lessons in naturalism, and investigates French forest management.

In 2015, he launched the Facebook and YouTube channel Partager c’est Sympa to react to current events. Initially working alone, he was soon joined by two colleagues, and the team positioned itself in support of environmental activist associations and NGOs. Through dynamic videos, filmed in the heart of the action, with a central figure guiding viewers inside the mobilizations, Partager c’est Sympa amplifies the voice of the French climate movement. Gradually, the channel, structured as an association, grew and quickly became self-sufficient thanks to crowdfunding, which helped to support it. This independence then allowed it to focus on more complex topics and explore them in longer formats, giving more room to investigation.

This film is a combination of journalistic investigation based on encounters in the field, personal quest, and the naturalist wonder of observing wild animals. It is as much a journey as it is a hand extended between worlds that rarely meet.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Robert Stitelmann, founder of the project « La Manivelle », a tool-sharing cooperative, and Nicolas Fontaine, founder of the association Satellite, accompanied by Raphaël Arlettaz, Head of the Division of Conservation Biology, Institute of Ecology and Evolution of University of Bern.

Drink will be served in the foyer after the screening and discussion.
