Discover For P.G., a choreographed performance interpreted by contemporary dancer Frank Gizycki, in the exhibition rooms.

An excerpt from Morton Feldman’s composition For Philip Guston, originally performed by the ensemble Figure with Sara Baldini (flutes), Véronique Delcambre (piano and celesta), and Jean-Louis Maton (percussion), For P.G. is to the treasure hunt what a motif is to a work of art. Gradually, we follow Frank Gizycki through the tracks, motifs, textures, and time/spaces that Feldman’s monumental work presents. In this long journey, dance emerges intermittently to punctuate the crossing. Patiently, the initial motif is replayed and reoriented. The dance subtly expresses the delicate variations of notes, chords, and temporalities. Finally, For P.G. invites us to reflect on how the passage of time transforms our attitudes towards those around us.

Frank Gizycki trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon, the École des Sables in Senegal, and graduated in 2016 from the Performing Arts Research and Training Studios, a contemporary dance school in Brussels. He now collaborates with numerous choreographers, artists, and musicians from around the world.
