SOLD OUT | Introduction to linocut printing
11.02.2024Linocut is a relief printing technique that has been popular since the 20th century. It has been practised by famous artists such as Picasso and Matisse, both of whom created bold and colourful designs. In this special workshop, you can learn step-by-step about the different tools, materials and techniques used in etching, as well as the printing process. Usually, a heavy press is used, but other techniques will also be suggested by Hend Moaaz, visual artist, illustrator and teacher. Each participant will go home with his or her design engraved on a linoleum plate and a print of it on art paper. A short commented tour of the HIGH FIVE! exhibition is included in the workshop.
Originally from Egypt, Hend Moaaz holds a master’s degree in visual art from EDHEA and expresses herself through a variety of media, including embroidery, printing, manual and digital illustration and video.
