Between the big city and an isolated village in the Valle d’Aosta, Pietro and Bruno form an unexpected friendship in the heart of the Alps, a place of encounters that they treat as their kingdom. Life takes them apart without being able to separate them completely. While Bruno remains faithful to his mountain home, Pietro travels the world. Their journey will take them on a journey of love and loss, of origins and destinies, but above all of a friendship that will last a lifetime.

Adapted from Paolo Cognetti’s 2016 novel of the same name, Le Otto Montagne (The Eight Mountains) is a Franco-Italian-Belgian film directed by Felix Van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch and released in 2022. 147 minutes.
