Back from Venice, Erub artists Jimmy Thaiday and Lavinia Ketchell, along with Lynnette Griffiths, will be joined by artist Gina Allain, who has been facilitating painting and ghostnet weaving workshops with Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities in North Queensland since 2008.

They will discuss issues surrounding the oceans, industrial fishing and their respective lifestyles, and comment their collaborative approach to the “circle of makers” which offers a mix of practical and social interaction often missed in our modern world, developing ideas collectively, designing and constructing large scale works.

11 am – 12 pm: conference
12 – 1 pm : creative workshop
