TURBULA – OBJECT THEATRE
16.11.2025Join us for the closing of BENEATH THE REFLECTIONS OF THE WORLD with an object theatre performance in the Fondation Opale auditorium. Conceptualised by Cécile Poncet, Turbula is a daydream brought to life through sensitive and curious objects.
A visual poem of delicate, precise, and minimalist play, it invites us to wander along unstable, random, and fleeting paths driven by ever-renewed impulses. Rich in metaphors, symbols, and metamorphoses, the performance invites everyone to let their imagination flow freely and to project their own experience.
An escape from time, Turbula offers a breath of calm in contrast to a troubled and noisy world. A tribute to introspection and simplicity, a call to slow down, the piece seeks to awaken in the audience a quest for the essential, leading to a feeling of serenity, freedom, and empathy.
Cécile Poncet graduated from the National Centre for Circus Arts in London. Early in her career, she took part in several collective creations as a performer, notably with the contemporary circus company Gandini Juggling, while developing her own technique and relationship with object manipulation. Over time, she completed her training as a circus artist and founded Cie Après Coup in 2022, with the aim of developing her own projects at the crossroads of several art forms — poetry, visual arts, object and material theatre, and puppetry. The company’s work focuses primarily on themes of inner life and otherness.
Created in 2024, Turbula, a non-verbal performance, has been selected for the Off en Salle programme of the 2025 World Festival of Puppet Theatres in Charleville-Mézières, France.
