Amitalia presents a film and discussion on Michelangelo Pistoletto and Arte Povera.

Through archival footage, evocative shots of the Città dell’Arte and in-depth interviews, the documentary offers insight into the work and career of Michelangelo Pistoletto — not only as an artist, but also as an activist and thinker who has always been attentive to social and environmental issues, leading him to move away from existing artistic movements and become a forerunner of new ones.

The backbone of the documentary is an intimate, in-depth interview in which Pistoletto himself, now eighty-eight years old, tells his story, from his childhood as the son of an artist to the realisation, in the present day, of his project in Biella.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Samuel Gross, Artistic Director of Fondation Opale, and then by a dinner apéritif.
