That they have developed unparalleled systems of healthcare, labour organisation, agriculture and defence? That an ant can carry up to sixty times its own weight, that the male dies of exhaustion after mating, and that kamikaze ants exist? That the queen regulates the balance of her colony thanks to a spermatheca, and that observing ants has helped develop the algorithms and artificial intelligence we use every day?  

This talk, highly informative, slightly educational and completely offbeat, delivered by two renowned myrmecologists, will undoubtedly transform your perception of this tiny insect. Afterward, you may find it impossible to spray an ant colony that has settled in your kitchen. And you will never again walk past an anthill with a dismissive glance, flicking away the few ants weaving between the hairs on your forearm.
