LAST WHISPERS : PRELUDE
03.11.2021 → 17.04.2022According to UNESCO, every two weeks the world loses a language. The Special Focus space hosts LAST WHISPERS, an immersive oratorio created by artist Lena Herzog, about the mass extinction of languages and its resulting silence. Her work, presented in its VR format, shows a topography of the Earth substituted with a “digital quilt blanket” sewn from satellite photographs of extreme climate events, reflecting one of the causes of human migrations and dislocations, including those that are linguistic.
